About Us

The Hitchcock Group (THG) was conceived of the need for professional services for Associations and Corporations without the resources or requirement for full-time, dedicated staff or large management consulting companies.

_KSA3018-EditReed Hitchcock is the Principal/Owner of THG, and brings over 20 years experience building relationships, uniting stakeholders, establishing coalitions, advocating on industry issues, and delivering results.

Reed has served as senior staff executive for Associations in the building products, transportation, and hospitality industries. He has presented as industry spokesperson and managed key industry initiatives including product performance, codes and standards, and environmental issues, and works closely with the Boards of Directors and association committees to improve, establish, and maintain best practices in financial management and implementation of association programs and services.  He has collaborated with organization leaders to develop strategic plans and initiatives, and to see them through to implementation. He also served as head of the strategic Washington, D.C. office and as a member of the executive committee for a major multi-national association management company.

Additionally, Reed has led international industry coalitions around issues related to energy, environment, health and safety, and management of joint U.S. – European research to gather information regarding activities with REACH and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). In addition, he has been responsible for consensus building among stakeholders in multi-billion dollar industries ensuring interests are collectively and effectively represented. He has served as executive oversight for organizations involved in environmental markets, risk management, transportation, building design, and construction.

Reed has also served as senior staff in a stand-alone Association environment, with responsibility for operations and financial administration, and working closely with association members to formulate public policy and build membership value, recruitment, and retention.

He also previously served as assistant to the president for Alvensa Corporation, a multi-national building materials manufacturing and marketing company, with oversight responsibility for personnel, administration and plant management functions for a facility sited in Nogales, Mexico manufacturing products for private-label distribution throughout North America. During Reed’s tenure, Alvensa also distributed American-made building materials into Turkey.

Reed has lived in Hong Kong, and has worked in China, Turkey, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and throughout North America. In addition to his work with THG, he is a professional automotive journalist specializing in new and classic European cars, and is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the National Press Club, the Motor Press Guild, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
